Based in the the South East of South Australia, Kingston District Council is home to an array of historic buildings, sandy beaches and beautiful coastline.
Kingston District Council has launched its brand new responsive website which offers one place for locals and visitors to find what they are looking for in the district and surrounding areas. The website boasts a number of features such as social media interactivity, newsletter subscription feeds, events and news as well as their interactive discover section.
Kingston District Council is using Squiz Matrix, a newly developed framework targeting South Australian Councils to make managing their content seamless to manage and offers a number of unique Council objects to make their life easier.
As part of the Council website build we were asked to merge the existing tourism website into their new Council website. Both under the same site but with a unique look and feel in the tourism (discover section) that gives it its own identity and adapts their branding which can be seen throughout the district. Their tourism also draws in on their key focus areas using interactive quick link boxes.
Their brand new website is not only easier for the public to use but also internally a lot easier for them to manage. We reduced the home page down to be simple, easy to navigate, with a focus on their social media and quick link access information.
