Community Consultation ~ Upcoming Grant Funding Opportunities

Project Proposal submissions for the upcoming grant funding opportunities under the Drought Communities Programme (Round 2) and the NRWMF – Community Benefit Programme close at 5.00 pm on Wednesday 22 January 2020.

So far we have received 26 Project Proposals from 17 proponents. Council would like to thank the community for their input.

Deadline Extension – Community Project Proposals

Council would like to let everyone know that the deadline for submission of Project Proposals for Councils to consider applying for under the Drought Communities and Community Benefit Programs, has been extended to COB on Wednesday 22/1/20.

If you feel you are running out of time to get your Proposal Form finished, or if you haven’t got started yet but you have a great idea for a project that would benefit our community, you now have a couple more days to submit your suggestions.

Project Proposal Forms can be found below and are available at the FRC office and on the FRC website, or if you would like to fill the form out on your computer, please contact Kathy on 8620 0500 / 0498 486 019 and she will email you a copy that can be completed on-line.

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has now provided Council with the formal Declaration of Results for the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF) Ballot.

71 per cent of those eligible, exercised their right to participate in the ballot.

The Results Are:

Number of Eligible Voters 1238

Number of envelopes/ballot papers returned for scrutiny 880

Ballot papers admitted to scrutiny 868

Informal Vote 6

Formal Votes Accepted: 862
Yes Votes 408 (47.33%)

NRWMF Community Ballot – Scrutineers
Council invites nominations from persons interested in attending the ballot count in Adelaide on Thursday 12 December 2019 from 10:45am until mid-afternoon.
Council has a limited number of Scrutineer positions to allocate and these are to be spread across those in favour and those against the proposed facility being in the Council area. There are also a number of positions for Council representatives to attend.
Some assistance may be available to help with travel and accommodation costs. If you intend to nominate, please ensure that you will be available to attend on the specified day as the appointments are non-transferrable.
If you are interested in attending as a Scrutineer, please email you nomination to ceo@frc.sa.gov.au by the close of business on Thursday 5 December 2019. Your nomination should indicate the basis of your interest in being a scrutineer and provide an indication of whether you are or are not supportive of the proposed facility to enable an adequate cross-section of the community to be represented. Please also ensure that you provide all necessary contact information.
Nominations will be assessed on Friday 6 December 2019 with successful nominees contacted that day in order to complete the required paperwork.
