Registration of .com.au / .org.au domain names are limited to registered Australian businesses/Orgs, to complete registration for a .com.au you will be required to supply an ABN or ACN number.
.au domain can be purchased once you have ownership of a .com.au if needed and setup as an alias/redirect.
