The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is committed to ensuring that its waste collection and disposal service is efficient and cost effective, and helps to reduce the incidence of litter and the impact of waste on our environment.

Website Requirements

It was important to the Port Adelaide Enfield Council that kids of all age groups can learn the importance of Waste and Recycling at home and in their local community.

This information had to be presented in a way that was going to keep the kids interested and want to learn more.

Solution

A series of interactive Flash Animation activities which shows the importance of waste and recycling was created. Two main characters are used to talk you through each activity with instructions, answers and important waste & recycling tips.

3 activities showing the journey of waste from your home to its final destination.

Each of the 6 steps provide an animated illustration with information. 

Waste Sorting Activity

This activity gives kids the chance to clean-up the waste items by dragging them into their correct location. A correct/incorrect answer will be given as the item is dropped into a certain location. Recycling tips will accompany the correct answer.

What recycled item is it made from?

Kids will learn what recyclable products such as plastics, glass and paper are used to make a new product.
